Item 84
What is the padró, and does it prove that you live in Spain legally?
The Padró municipal d'habitants is the register of a municipality’s residents under Ley 7/1985 (LBRL): article 15 requires everyone who lives in Spain to register where they usually live and, if they live in several places, where they spend most of the year [1]. Article 18.2 adds that registering a foreign national in the padró does not prove legal residence and gives no rights that the law does not provide [1]. It records your address; it is not an immigration status.
