Sarrià-Sant Gervasi at a glance

The district is made of former municipalities: Sant Gervasi de Cassoles joined Barcelona in 1897, Sarrià in 1921 (the last village on the plain), and Vallvidrera and les Planes had joined Sarrià in 1890. Its barris are Sarrià, les Tres Torres, Sant Gervasi–la Bonanova, Sant Gervasi–Galvany, el Putxet i el Farró, and Vallvidrera, el Tibidabo i les Planes. It is one of the gateways to the Collserola natural park and has the lowest population density of the areas we cover.

The average age in the Cadastre is 61.8 years. The city describes les Tres Torres as a small old core around the market with newer blocks of detached and taller buildings. Old Sarrià grew around carrer Major de Sarrià.

Transport and daily life

The district's main rail link is the FGC: Plaça Molina, Sant Gervasi, Muntaner, Bonanova, Les Tres Torres, Sarrià, Reina Elisenda, Pàdua, El Putxet, Avinguda del Tibidabo, Peu del Funicular, Baixador de Vallvidrera and Les Planes. There is almost no metro inside the district: according to city data, only an exit of Lesseps station. An FGC funicular climbs to Vallvidrera. Markets: Galvany, Sarrià, Tres Torres and Sant Gervasi. Sarrià has the parks of Joan Reventós, Castell de l'Oreneta and Can Ponsic and the gardens of Vil·la Amèlia and Vil·la Cecília.

What to check before you buy

  • The route to school and work. Without a metro, everything depends on the FGC station near the home. Walk the route in the morning.
  • Slopes. The district climbs towards Collserola; a route that is easy by car can be steep on foot.
  • What you can reach on foot. Check how far the shop, pharmacy and health centre are from the address.
  • Homes near Collserola. For Vallvidrera, el Tibidabo and les Planes, ask a lawyer about the natural park's protection rules and fire-safety requirements for the plot.
  • Tourist flats. The district has 662 entries in the tourist-flat register (third quarter of 2026). The city has decided that all tourist-flat licences in Barcelona expire in November 2028.
