How the calculator works
The calculator checks your answers against the digital nomad visa requirements in articles 74 bis and 74 ter of Ley 14/2013 and the UGE document list[1][2]:
- a university, vocational college or business school degree, or at least three years of experience in similar roles[1];
- the relationship with the foreign company has lasted at least three months on the filing date, and the company has genuinely operated for at least a year[1][2];
- income of at least 200 % of the minimum wage: €2,849 gross a month in 2026, plus 75 % for the first family member and 25 % for each further one[2][4];
- an employee works only for a company outside Spain; a freelancer may have Spanish clients up to 20 % of their activity[1][3];
- Seguridad Social is settled before filing: foreign employer registration, RETA registration or a certificate under an agreement[2].
You can apply to the UGE from Spain if you are there lawfully; from abroad you apply for a visa at a consulate[1]. The calculator does not check documents, criminal record, insurance or contract wording: those are reviewed when the application is prepared.
